♥ LOVE IS IN THE AIR ♥
February is often known for being a month dedicated to and all about love. But February is not only about valentines and sweethearts; instead it can also be a month for self-love and self-care, fostering relationships with family and friends, and loving others.
In a month filled with gifts and poems and other romantic gestures, it´s easy to get a little anxious about whether you´ve found the perfect way to show someone that you care. But it all doesn´t have to be about the size of a gift or the amount that you spend, simple acts can go a long way and that is precisely what we´ve wanted to achieve with our First Valentine cards competition at IESO Alconétar organized by the English department.
All the students from the school have had the opportunity to participate just by decorating beautifully valentine cards and writing love messages to a friend from the school. Once the cards were ready, the students hung them in the school tree in the main hall so that their valentines could find and read them. It has been a successful activity with great participation and the three best cards have received a prize.

Febrero es a menudo conocido por ser el mes dedicado a todo lo relacionado con el amor. Pero febrero no va sólo de san valentines y amores; puede ser también un mes para el amor y el cuidado a uno mismo, para fomentar las relaciones con la familia y los amigos. En un mes lleno de regalos, poemas y otros gestos románticos, es fácil estresarse preguntandote si has encontrado el modo perfecto de demostrar a alguien que te importa. Sin embargo, no todo tiene que ir sobre el tamaño del regalo o la cantidad de dinero que gastes en él, los actos más simples pueden servir para demostrar a tus seres queridos lo importante que son para ti. Esto es precisamente lo que hemos querido conseguir con el primer concurso de tarjetas de san valentín del IESO Alconétar organizado por el departamento de inglés.
Todos los alumnos del instituto han tenido la oportunidad de participar simplemente decorando de forma bonita una tarjeta de san valentine y escribiendo un mensaje a un amigo del instituto. Una vez las tarjetas han estado preparadas, los alumnos las han colgado en el árbol de la entrada del centro dedicado a este tipo de actividades para que el resto de alumnos pudieran verlas y leer aquellas dirigidas a ellos. La actividad ha tenido mucho éxito y gran participación y las tres mejores tarjetas han recibido un premio.
